Free Admission! Must-see event on July 27th: 2nd Binissalem Film Festival
An evening full of screenings, short films and local talent at the Binissalem Theatre
This Saturday, July 27th, with free entry for everyone, the Teatre de Binissalem will host the 2nd Edition of the Binissalem Film Festival —an event that has become a cultural landmark for the town. From 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, attendees will enjoy a rich program of emerging filmmakers, original screenings, and audiovisual productions with strong local roots. The event is organized by the Binissalem Town Council under the initiative “Open to Local Commerce”.
Surprise Screening: Ramon Planes
One of the highlights of the evening is a screening by Ramon Planes Socies (Mallorca, 2003), a graduate in Cinematography from ESCAC and currently pursuing a Master's in Directing. With eight short films already to his name, his most recent work —produced by ESCAC Films— offers a unique blend of romantic comedy and heist cinema, packed with humor, emotion and action.
Short Films Section: IES Binissalem
Young creativity takes the stage with the screening of four short films by students from IES Binissalem, created as part of their final coursework for Audiovisual Communication:
“El Maletí”, by Joani Herbener, Miquel Giner, Daniel Soriano, Alejandro Morey, Pau Bono and Mohamed Merzaq.
“La sort que tenim de ser d’aquí”, by Aina Mar Moyà, Marina Cañellas and Marta Ferragut.
“C@BR*NS!”, by Marc Sabater Sancho, Mateu Moyà Banús and Pedro Fernández Gervilla.
“Mátame cuando el ayer regrese”, by Leire Ballesteros, Lucia Pons, Pau Castro, Miquel Beltrán, Laura Blanco, Xavier Servera and Margalida Salas.
Short film “Vens a cercar-me?” by Rubén Capilla
Another feature is “Vens a cercar-me?”, directed by Rubén Capilla (1994), journalist and cinematographer who has worked with El Mundo, IB3 and Movistar+. The story follows a son whose daily routine is shaken by a phone call from his mother about a possible cancer diagnosis —a touching piece about time, priorities, and life.
Music video “Ella Sempre” by Tebals and Marc Bergas
Mallorcan band Tebals will present the music video for their new single “Ella Sempre”, directed by Marc Bergas. The video, rich in local imagery and rural Mallorcan landscapes, immerses the viewer in a visual narrative full of emotion and identity, just days after their performance at the Mallorca Live Festival.
Teaser documentary “Pàtria” by Joan Miquel Moyà
Finally, young filmmaker Joan Miquel Moyà (2000) will present the teaser for “Pàtria”, his first documentary. A heartfelt audiovisual tribute to the “Festa des Vermar” and the town of Binissalem, it reflects local traditions and identity with a personal and poetic tone.
